W-section pales are the industry standard for high-security industrial applications — the corrugated profile provides greater bending and cut-through resistance per kilogram of steel than the smoother D-section. D-section is preferred where visual aesthetics matter alongside security, such as school perimeters, government buildings and commercial frontages. F-section combines characteristics of both and is common on defence and utility sites.
