A sliding driveway gate runs parallel to the fence on a track — it needs a run-back space at least equal to the gate width. A swing gate opens on hinges inward or outward — it needs clearance space in front of or behind the gate. Sliding gates work better on sloped driveways. Swing gates are slightly cheaper for smaller openings. We assess which is better for your specific Sydney driveway during the free site visit.
