For Sutherland properties with shallow topsoil over sandstone, we adapt our installation method to work with the actual soil depth rather than defaulting to a standard 150mm excavation that would hit rock. We assess soil depth during the free on-site inspection, and where sandstone is close to the surface we use a thinner compacted decomposed granite layer combined with precision levelling to ensure a flat, stable, and well-draining surface for the artificial grass. The result is identical to a standard installation — the method is adjusted to suit the site.

The Sutherland area has significant appeal for artificial grass installation because established homes in the Shire often have mature native trees that create heavy shade and root competition, making real lawn genuinely difficult to maintain.
