How We Install Artificial Grass Across Sydney

What separates a lawn that looks great for 10 years from one that sinks and separates after two summers is the subbase preparation, not the turf product itself. Every installation we complete starts with proper excavation and a 75–100mm compacted crushed rock (decomposed granite) base — this provides the drainage and stability that synthetic turf requires to maintain its flat, firm surface long-term.

Once the subbase is compacted and level, we install a commercial-grade weed barrier mat before rolling out the turf. Seaming is one of the most critical steps in any multi-roll installation — we use purpose-made joining tape and adhesive to create invisible, secure seams that won't lift or separate. Edges are secured with aluminium or timber edging, pinned at regular intervals, and the perimeter is trimmed cleanly against garden borders, paths and fences. Infill — typically silica sand — is then brushed in to give the pile its upright, natural appearance and protect the backing from UV degradation.

All turf products we supply are UV-stabilised and rated for Australian conditions. Sydney's UV index is among the highest in the world — non-UV-stabilised turf will fade and become brittle within 3–4 years of outdoor installation. We stock products in pile heights from 25mm (balconies, putting greens) to 40mm (family lawns, pet areas) with polyethylene fibres in a range of green tones to match surrounding natural turf.
